Nursery Yard Associate - Full Time
Location: Novi, MI

At Great Oaks Landscape, our passion drives us to be leaders in the landscape industry. We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Nursery Yard Associate to join our team at our Novi nursery.

Position Overview:
The Nursery Yard Associate will support the Nursery Foreman and team in maintaining an organized, clean, and healthy nursery environment while assisting with daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Nursery Foreman with maintaining organization, plant health, and overall cleanliness of the nursery yard

• Load and unload plant materials for deliveries (incoming and outgoing)

• Operate equipment such as forklifts and skid steers (experience required)

• Support general nursery operations as needed

Qualifications:

• Experience operating forklifts and/or skid steers required

• Knowledge of plant materials is a plus, but not required

• Spanish-speaking skills are a plus

• Must be reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn

Schedule:

• Monday through Saturday (Saturday is a half day)

• Overtime available

Great Oaks Landscape Associates, located in Novi, Michigan, is a recognized leader in the industry for its landscape design-build and maintenance expertise. We are looking for a Landscape Foreman to join our team!

The foreman is a hands-on working position, supervising a team of up to 8 crew members. Responsible for making crew decisions with the guidance of the Project Managers. 5 years prior landscaping experience is required with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership position.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise landscape installation operations.
• Review landscape design with landscape designer & project managers.
• Train and mentor landscaping crew employees;
• Supervise employees on the job site
• How to use landscape install equipment
• Installation of plants, shrubs, and trees
• Ensure work is completed per plans and specifications as well as with the client's expectations
• Promote high standards for customer service, develop a safety culture, and create a positive team environment
• Lead, train, and develop employees

The Position

• Trim edges along sidewalks, fences, and driveways
• Use weed whackers and blowers to clean up clippings
• Maintain equipment and report any issues
• Follow safety guidelines while working outdoors

Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Physical stamina to walk, lift, and operate equipment
• Basic knowledge of lawn care equipment (preferred but not required)
• Reliable transportation and punctuality

Pay & Schedule:

• Pay: $20.00+ per hour (depending on experience)
• Schedule: Full-time

Additional Info:
Experience in landscaping is a plus, but training can be provided.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cut grass, trim edges, blow trimmings, weeding, landscaping & perform other lawn care duties.
• Operate power equipment including, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, edgers and other landscape maintenance equipment.
• Aid in the loading/unloading and daily inspections of trucks and trailers in the AM/PM
• Comply with all company policies and regulations in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulation.
• Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner.
